The Knucklehead of the Year award- Politics

The first Knucklehead of the year awards is back. We hope everyone had a blessed holiday.

Today's category is Politics. As we all know there is no lack of candidates for this award. Some may even say all politicians are knuckleheads!

Read this post if you want an explanation of how I set up this year's awards. Our judging panel remains the same.

Our Six nominees for today are

1- Philippine President Gloria Arroyo
2- US Senator Richard Durbin
3- Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe
4- Indiana State Representative Patricia Miller
5- French President Jacques Chirac
6- Prince Charles

This was a close vote with two of the above six garnering all five votes. Two votes going to French President Jacques Chirac.

Our Politics winner is...........

United States Senator Richard Durbin

Senator Durbin originally won the Knucklehead award on June 16th for when speaking on the Senate Floor, this knucklehead compared our brave fighting men and women to the likes of the Nazis and Pol Pot. The absurdity of that analogy is beyond words and only a knucklehead would say them.

Greta said- Dick the Dick Durbin hands down!

John in Carolina said- Knucklehead is too nice a word for a US Senator who attacks the American military at Gitmo while paling with the guy who runs one of the most notorious jails in America. The jail happens to be in Durbin’s state.

Chirac is very bad but Democrat Durbin is worse.

Way to go Senator Durbin! He joins Halifax Calderdale Royal Hospital, five supreme court justices and MLB Pitcher Kenny Rogers as our Knucklehead of the year finalists.
