Eleven dead- Aren't they lucky!
Some news from the Philippines
BAGUIO, Philippines, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A series of landslides and floods caused by heavy rains in the Phillippines have left 11 people dead and another citizen missing. The UPI article doesn't specifically mention it, but the 11 deaths were the result of Tropical Storm Pabuk.
Civil defense officials said torrential rains caused a major landslide in the town of Maco that claimed the lives of 10 people and left another missing, while a young boy was killed in the city of Baguio by another landslide, The Manila Times said.
The Office of the Civil Defense said in addition to Monday's and Wednesday's fatal landslides, a third landslide occurred in the city of Makiti early Wednesday. No deaths had been connected to that event, the office added.
Rescuers in the city of Antipolo, meanwhile, freed five siblings Wednesday after a wall of their home collapsed, pinning them underneath it.
Any time a Tropical system or Typhoon crosses the Philippines, death and destruction happens in that country. The effects of this storm were rather mild, except to those who died and their families. God bless them.
This woman sounds more like a Knucklehead than ever.
We are just hoping we'll be lucky enough to get two storms in August," Alviar said in an interview on Manila's dzBB radio.Ms. Alviar might like to prove how lucky Filipinos should feel having a typhoon destroy their lives, by sacrificing 11 of her family members the next time a storm comes through. What a worthless piece of garbage she is.
Note- I'm well aware of the current drought in the Philippines. That doesn't excuse Ms. Alviar's lucky statement.
