Is anything sacred?

Even microwave popcorn can be unhealthy now. Reminds me of a George Carlin joke. "Scientists discover saliva can cause cancer. Only if swallowed in small doses over a long period of time."

New York- WABC, May 2, 2006) - There are health concerns about microwave popcorn -- and it's not the popcorn that's the problem, it's the bag.

Scientists are taking a closer look at the chemical coating used in microwave popcorn bags-- the coating makes the bags grease resistant.

A recent FDA study found that some of that chemical coating is seeping into the popcorn.

Another study concluded that a chemical extract from that coating is likely carcinogenic to humans.

The popcorn industry says companies are moving away from using this coating in their bags.
