Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

Assorted Golf notes

There is some golf news to comment on

*- Golf trivia time. Name the golfers who have won all 4 PGA tour stops in Texas? That's the Byron Nelson, Colonial, Houston and Texas Opens.

*- Michelle Wie made it through the first phase of qualifying for the Men's US Open to be played next month in New York. To qualify Michelle still has to make it through 36-hole sectional play on June 5th in New Jersey.

I predict Michelle will NOT qualify for the US Open.

*- Karrie Webb won her second LPGA event of the year last weekend. I think that marks a full comeback for the Hall of Famer.

So Karrie has won two tournaments, one of which is a major. Does she make the cover of Golf World? Nope this time it isn't Phil Mickelson, but Annika Sorenstam for missing the cut.

Is there a sorrier sports publication around than Golf World?

*- Is there a sorrier golf blogger than Stina Sternberg? I took exception to her double standard for Se Ri Pak/Michelle Wie over a week ago. After blogging on this, I sent a trackback to her post. All comments and trackbacks have to be okd before they show up on the blog.

Guess what? My trackback hasn't been approved. Other comments have, but not my trackback. Shows Stina is as pathetic as the golf publication that links to her. If you can't stand criticism Stina, why don't you let another woman write on golf? Like one who gives a damn about the LPGA.

*- The LPGA announced the addition of a tour stop in Thailand this fall. The Honda LPGA Thailand 2006 will be played Oct. 20-22 at Amata Spring Country Club near Bangkok.

The Press release also mentions US television plans for the event will be annoucned later. LOL, sure they will. If LPGA events in Georgia, Mexico and Canada(Not to mention Japan and South Korea) aren't televised, why should I believe Thailand will be any different?

*- Golf trivia answer- No one. In spite of these tournaments having histories dating back at least to the 1940's, no golfer has won all 4 events.
