The Knucklehead of the Day award
Today's winner is Randy Schultz, the editor of the Palm Beach Post editorial page. Last Thursday I blogged on the error prone column of Tom Blackburn one of the paper's columnists. This was the reply I got back from Mr. Schultz.
Thanks for the e-mail. I check with Tom, who reviewed his sources for the column. Seems that different sources can differ. Other points you raise deal with interpretation -- 4-4-1 vs 5-4 -- that is part of any column. I don't see a need for a published correction.
What sources? Nine mistakes don't rate a correction? That tells you the Post editorial and it's columnists will say anything and the facts be damned. What kind of newspaper is this? I think I just found out.
For having no journalistic integrity and jettisoning his newspaper's reputation, Randy Schultz is the Knucklehead of the day.
