Weekly dolphins prediction
First, the Dolphins placed Quarterback Trent Green on injured Reserve yesterday.
The Dolphins placed Trent Green on injured reserve Saturday, ending the veteran quarterback’s season, and possibly his 14-year NFL career. This like the Chris Chambers deal, I think are correct personnel moves by the Dolphins. Green's further playing for the Dolphins doesn't do any good for the team either short or long-term.
Green, who started five games for the Dolphins, completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 987 yards and five touchdowns before suffering a Grade 3 concussion in the Oct. 7 loss to Houston.
The 37-year-old had been pushing to get back on the field, saying this concussion paled in comparison to the one he had 13 months ago while playing for Kansas City, but team doctors and specialists weren’t willing to clear him.
“At this point, this is the best thing for Trent and the team,” said coach Cam Cameron, who pushed for the acquisition of Green this offseason, sending a conditional 2008 draft pick to the Chiefs. If Green fails to play in 70 percent of the team’s offensive snaps the Chiefs get a fifth-round draft pick as compensation instead of a fourth-rounder. “The doctors have prescribed rest for now. No long-term decisions regarding Trent’s future have been made.”
We'll have to wait and see if Dolphins management and coaching has righted itself after years of bad personnel decisions and draft blunders when the team didn't trade away draft picks.
Miami(0-6) plays host to New England(6-0) this afternoon. Highest rated scoring offense in the league against the 29th ranked scoring defense. New England's defense is also 2nd in the league, and I'm predicting no 100 yard game for Ronnie Brown today who is coming off four of those outings in a row. All the ingredients necessary for a massacre are there and who am I to say otherwise. My prediction- New England 41, Miami 10.
