Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? Lets have a debate

From the Sun-Sentinel-

Two nationally televised presidential debates will be held at Florida Atlantic University's Boca Raton campus before the state's presidential primary.

Republicans and Democrats will debate Jan. 23 and Jan. 25, leading into the state's new Jan. 29 primary, according to Wendy Abberger, executive director of Leadership Florida, the nonprofit group organizing the debates.FAU officials received confirmation of the debates Thursday.

It's not yet decided which night will feature Republicans and which Democrats, Abberger said.

The debate announcement comes at a time of national controversy surrounding Florida's early primary date.

The national Democratic Party vows to strip the state of all its delegates for violating a rule that state primaries shouldn't be scheduled before Feb. 5. And leading Democratic contenders, including Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, have promised not to campaign in the state.
The promise not to campaign here is a load of bull. For one, the Presidential candidates are still coming to Florida to rake in campaign dollars. Secondly, what legitimate Presidential hopeful wants to write off Florida in the next election? They will keep on coming here, and I will give even money odds that the Democratic delegates do get seated at the next convention. The National party will find some face saving method to do it. It just won't be announced before January 2008, or just before the primary is held.

Note- Florida Atlantic University is twenty miles from my home.
