The Knucklehead of the Day award Part Two
Today's second winner is the San Mateo County Times newspaper and its reporter, Christine Morente. They get the award for the following.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO - KIMBERLY SHRUM grips a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver and aims at a target 25 yards away. What is wrong with this article? A 357 Magnum is a revolver, and it doesn't discharge shell casings unless the chambers are emptied by its owner. Ms. Morente clearly doesn't know what she is writing about, and may even have totally made up the scene she wrote about. No one at the San Mateo County Times caught the mistake either.
Bang.
A hot shell casing hits the floor, joining hundreds of others littering the concrete at Jackson Arms Indoor Shooting Range in South San Francisco.
Shrum centers herself and aims again.
Bang.
After two days using her new revolver, Shrum's hands are sore from the recoil of every shot.
"I get that rush and power from a Magnum," said the 36-year-old Millbrae resident. "I've taken archery and thrown darts, but shooting is another way to hurl something through the air. But this is just like shooting a paper ball into the trash can. TwoPoints. Air ball."
Some bloggers think this is just leftish members of the MSM, who in their anti-gun zeal, got carried away. TFM has a gun in his house, but gun control one way or the other, has never been an issue to excite me. What we have in this case may or may not be gun control bias in MSM showing, but it is definitely sloppy journalism. That is all it takes to make The San Mateo County Times newspaper and its reporter, Christine Morente today's second Knucklehead winners of the Day.
Michelle Malkin and The World According to Carl are also blogging on this story.
