Even the convenience store clerks were skeptical about the robber's intentions.

Just after 11 p.m. on Sunday, the Broward Sheriff's Office said, Peter Kafafian tried to hold up a 7-Eleven at 5890 N. Andrews Avenue near Fort Lauderdale with an unusual weapon: a Phillips screwdriver.

But if you think the threat of being attacked with a common tool would scare the clerk, think again.

''I am not going to give you nothing,'' the cashier, Georges Saint Breux told the robber more than once, according to TV reports.

Then, when another store clerk pulled out a knife from behind the counter, the robber skipped out, empty handed.
