TAMPA - A man who fled from police hid inside a refrigerator early Wednesday, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police said they spotted Lazaro Sotelo driving a stolen vehicle near South Dale Mabry Highway late Tuesday. When police put on their sirens, Sotelo accelerated and ran red lights and a stop sign, the affidavit states.

Four miles later, Sotelo bailed from the car and ran inside a screened pool enclosure at 3008 W. Aileen St. He then hid inside a refrigerator in the home, the affidavit states.

Sotelo was arrested about 12:25 a.m. Wednesday. He was charged with six felonies and two misdemeanors, including grand theft auto.
