The Knucklehead of the Day award

Today's winner is Ann Coulter. She gets the award for some of her comments on yesterday's Today show. She was being interviewed by Matt Lauer.

LAUER: On the 9-11 widows, an in particular a group that had been critical of the administration:

COULTER: “These self-obsessed women seem genuinely unaware that 9-11
was an attack on our nation and acted like as if the terrorist attack only happened to them. They believe the entire country was required to marinate in their exquisite personal agony. Apparently, denouncing bush was part of the closure process.”

“These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by griefparrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s death so much.”

The 9-11 widows aren't above criticism, but like Cindy Sheehan I feel they're free to express their views. This is America after all. I do believe most people are clueless to the grief they have gone through, and in Sheehan's case I felt much of the attacks on her were unjustified. She has a right to be opposed to the war, she gave her son for this country. Leave the woman alone if you don't like her opinions or those of the 9-11 widows, say nothing or state your views without making them personal. Something sadly lacking in the right blogosphere who felt the need to mock Ms. Sheehan on a regular basis last summer and fall. You're falling into an abyss when you do such crap.

Ms. Coulter is free to have her views. But her remarks yesterday are the latest in a series of below the belt blows this commentator seems to specialize in. I've read two of her books, numbing as they are I completed them. Coulter takes anyone who takes a differing opinion than her own and trashes them. Does Coulter believe have the bs that spews out of her or is it all an act to sell books? If its the former she is bad as those on the left who spew hate, if Coulter is the later she is a fraud out to make a buck. She calls the widows millionaires as if its an insult. Does Ann ever think these women would give up every dime to have their loved ones back? They would.

All I say is get a life and while you're at it Ann, you get today's knucklehead of the day.
