Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

Where would Jim Davis rank as governor?

If you've read TFM in the past, you know I'm not particularly enamored about any of the four main candidates for Florida Governor this fall. So far we have

Knucklehead Tom Gallagher
Spammer Charlie Crist
Wrong Priorities Rod Smith

We also had the financially incompetent Scott Maddox running. That was till Maddox withdrew from the race last October.

That leaves Jim Davis, US Congressman District 11(Tampa). What little I've learned about Davis has mostly come through the Almanac of American Politics.

Thanks to a post by Betsy, I've learned a little more about Jim Davis. A website called Congress.org has come out with power rankings of both US Senators and Congressman. Read this to understand how this website came about to these figures.

So I went and checked on Congressman Davis.

Power Rankings By:
Rank in Chamber: 419
Rank in State: 25
Rank in Party: 188
Rank in Class of 1996: 54

That's 419th of 438 members of Congress(Counting three non-voting members) and 25th out of 25 in the Florida Congressional delegation.

I know these rankings are subjective, but 419th of 438? Hardly sounds like the kind of leader we need to run this state.
