What is the saying about things coming in threes?

For the third time in two months, someone has attempted to bring drugs into the Martin County courthouse.

STUART — For the third time since late January, the same Martin County sheriff's deputy has caught someone apparently carrying an illicit drug into the Martin County Courthouse.

The latest bust happened Friday afternoon when a 16-year-old boy showed up for a drug court hearing before Martin Circuit Judge Steve Levin.

Deputy Paula Neild opened the boy's wallet as he walked through the metal detector. Neild usually checks wallets to make sure courthouse visitors don't bring razor blades and other dangerous objects into the courthouse. A sign near both entrances warns that all belongings are subject to search.

Deputies said Neild found a small plastic bag full of white powder in the boy's wallet. He was arrested on charges of cocaine possession and resisting an officer without violence.

I blogged on the earlier incidents, here and here. The acts of stupidity some people do on a daily basis never fails to amaze me. No wonder I don't have trouble giving out knucklehead awards.
