The Annika slump is over and a few golf notes
The Swedish golfing superstar won the John Q Hammons golf tournament yesterday. She edged Paula Creamer by one shot.
It was Annika's first win on the LPGA tour since June. Yesterday's win was also her second straight at the Hammons and third in the last four years. I guess 'The evil one' is back. The rest of the LPGA will return to fetching the few scraps Annika leaves behind.
*- In spite of being hospitalized last week, David Toms says he will play in the upcoming President's cup. Glad to see you feeling well David.
*- Jason Gore won the 84 lumber classic. 2005 has been like a dream for Jason. First contending in the US Open after years of wandering the mini-tours, now winning a PGA tournament. Congrats Jason, now you can fly from stop to stop and need not sleep in your car.
*- Michael Campbell wins the World Match Play in England. This tournament is dying out. Once upon a time all the big names went to play, now they avoid it. I give this tournament five years more at most.
*- Will she or won't she? Still no word on Michelle Wie and whether she will turn pro. I'm predicting she will by the end of this year, maybe as soon as next month.
