Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? Take your statement and....

A few days ago someone set fire at an abortion clinic in nearby West Palm Beach. I'm opposed to abortion, but setting fire to the place is uncalled for. The person responsible should be found and tried for arson. Pretty simple, right?

Not if the owner of the Presidential Women's clinic gets their way. They want a 30-foot buffer law, and Lois Frankel West Palm Beach(A very liberal former state legislator) says it will be on the agenda at a city council meeting next week. The buffer law would limit where protestors can assemble.

Why is a buffer law needed? The fire this week happened in the middle of the night, not because of some protestors. Mona Reis the clinic owner says it is to "make a statement" Well Ms. Reis and Mayor Frankel this is what I think about this law.

1- Ms. Reis you and your clinic deserve no special laws. Just like any one else you get protected by the police. No more no less.

2- Hire security if you got a problem. The city of West Palm Beach has been hit with a series of unsolved homicides this year. It doesn't need to be wasting its resources on you.

Of course we will probably see a buffer law enacted and the West Palm police enforcing it. Just further waste of taxpayer money just to please some politically correct cause. Mayor Frankel remember you work for the people of West Palm Beach, not Ms. Reis.
