Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? Co-Knucklehead of the Day award

We have a third winner today. This one goes to Margaret Cho who named her pet dog Gudrun. If you don't know who Gudrun was check this out.

Contrary to what many people think, Gudrun Ensslin, not Ulrike Meinhof, was the real female leader of the Baader-Meinhof Gang. Gudrun was a politically active student in the 1960s. She participated in the seminal 2 June 1967 Berlin protest where a young pacifist named Benno Ohnesorg was killed. After the protest she went to the local SDS office and screamed hysterically: "This fascist state means to kill us all! Violence is the only way to answer violence!"

Sounds like a wonderful human being doesn't she. If you check this out you learn more about the Baader-Meinhof gang.

At the height of its notoriety in the 1970s, the Red Army Faction was seen as Europe's most deadly urban terror group. Its small and disciplined cells made it a streamlined and effective organization. It attacked not just Germany's rich and powerful, but also U.S. military installations which current left-wing ideology saw as emblems of American imperialism.

The RAF is believed responsible for killing from 30 to 50 people, including high-ranking German politicians, business executives and U.S. military personnel.

No question Ms. Ensslin was a despicable human being. So who cares if Cho names a bitch after a bitch? Field Marshall Montgormery in World War II had pet dogs named Rommel and Hitler. There are other instances too. But read why Ms. Cho named her dog this.

Gudrun is named after the infamous Gudrun Ensslin who was the female leader of the Baader-Meinhof Gang, an art terrorist group from the 70s. Terrorism was different then. It had a chicness to it, which made it seem less like a dangerous menace and more like fashion.

So cold-blooded murder is chic. Just another sign of a loony Hollywood celebrity. Remember John Kerry called these people every day folks. You are a Knucklehead Ms. Cho, next time I'd suggest you eitherr learn some history rather than show your complete ignorance to millions of people.
