DEAN HITS GOP ON 'HONEST LIVING'
By Stephen Dinan and Amy Fagan
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean yesterday said many Republicans don't make an "honest living" — the sharpest barb in a campaign-style speech to a conference of liberal activists.
Speaking to the Campaign for America's Future, Mr. Dean called for easier rules for voting, saying it is difficult for working parents to make it to the polls on time and wait to vote. "Well, Republicans, I guess, can do that, because a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives," Mr. Dean said. "But for ordinary working people, who have to work eight hours a day, they have kids, they got to get home to those kids, the idea of making them stand for eight hours to cast their ballot for democracy is wrong."
I hate to inform the DNC chairman but my wife who is a minority and a Republican, is a church receptionist. She works very hard at her job five days a week in addition to having to occasionally field querries from the Catholic priests in her off hours.
Gov. Dean has shown ample tendency of late to shoot his mouth off in unwelcome or insulting fashion. Just recently Barney Frank criticized Dean for some comments he made on Meet the Press.
It looks like Dean who was hired to be DNC chair so as revitalize the faithful and raise funds(Which he is supposed to be good at) is going to be a fundraising disaster in addition to a loose cannon. Business Week reported this week that the RNC has over 3 times the funds in the bank than the DNC.
Congrats Governor on becoming a knucklehead. I have a nagging suspicion you'll be back for more awards.
