Sit tight
From the Sun-Sentinel-
I understand about the road situation. Interstate 95 is a mess in the best of conditions. If a Hurricane Andrew like storm was making a beeline for Miami, chaos would be the rule not the exception for roads heading north.
MIAMI -- About one in three people in Southern coastal areas said they would ignore government hurricane evacuation orders, up from about one in four last year, according to a poll released Tuesday.
The most common reasons respondents gave for not evacuating were the same ones that topped last year's Harvard University poll: believing that their home is safe and well-built, that roads would be too crowded and that fleeing would be dangerous.
All I say is I'm happy not to be living in a Hurricane evacuation zone.
