Some news from Florida. Was it only a misdemeanor because the turkey was cooked already? One of those twenty-five pound birds sold around Thanksgiving could be a dangerous weapon.

SEFFNER - A package of turkey became a weapon to a 60-year-old woman fighting with two roommates, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said Jackie Baird, of 5401 Mobile Villa Drive, got into a dispute about 1:15 a.m. Monday with two people with whom she lives as a family. Baird threw a package of turkey, which struck one person in the face, then chased both people with a hammer, a criminal report affidavit states.

No one was injured.

Deputies charged Baird with misdemeanor battery for the turkey-related incident and two felony counts of aggravated assault. She was being held without bail at Orient Road Jail on Monday.
