TAMPA - A motorist who lost control of his vehicle when he sneezed crashed into the side of a concrete block building early Friday morning. He had minor injuries; damage to the building was estimated to be $100,000.

The wreck occurred at 4:18 a.m. on Linebaugh Avenue just west of Anderson Road, according to Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies.

Joseph Johnson, 66, of 8808 Citrus Village Drive, Tampa, was westbound on Linebaugh when he sneezed as he approached the intersection, deputies said. The sneeze caused him to lose control of his 2007 Honda and he crossed into oncoming lanes and over the shoulder into the Design Specialties building at 6014 Linebaugh Ave.

If Mr. Johnson has to pay for the damage to the building out of his own pocket, he may well become allergic to driving.
