Shutout
Florida Panther goal tender Ed Belfour ties Tony Esposito on the all-time NHL shutout list. From the Sun-Sentinel.
MONTREAL -- The Panthers didn't give up a goal in two games at the Bell Centre this season.Congrats to Ed, who has become the Florida Panthers' most reliable net tender. He allows more than a half goal less than Alex Auld. That doesn't change the fact that the Roberto Luongo trade is a total disaster. Luongo gives up a goal less per game than the goalie the Panthers got in return.
Thanks to Ed Belfour, this time around they were able to leave Montreal with a win.

The 41-year-old veteran turned aside 29 shots Tuesday night to finally claim his 76th career shutout in the Panthers' 1-0 victory over the Canadiens before a sellout crowd of 21,273.
The shutout, Belfour's first in the regular season since April 3, 2004 with Toronto, drew him even with Tony Esposito for eighth place overall in NHL history.
"It's definitely an honor to be tied with Tony, one of my heroes," said Belfour, who began his career with Chicago in 1988.
