Lead or no lead?

The latest Trenton Duckett news-

BELLEVIEW -- Although Marion County investigators turned their attention this week to a new person of interest in the Trenton Duckett case, it's still uncertain if he can shed light on the missing toddler's fate.

Marion detectives say Chai-Wen Chen, a 25-year-old Belleview store employee, was a friend of Trenton's mother, Melinda Duckett. She called him on her cell phone the day her son was reported missing. And Chen works at the Rent-A-Center across the street from the Wendy's where witnesses said they saw Melinda at least twice the day Trenton disappeared.

"To me it's a big coincidence," said Marion Sheriff's Maj. Chris Blair, who is leading one of two investigations into the Leesburg boy's vanishing and also holding on to a belief that Trenton is alive.

Blair said Thursday that investigators continue looking in and around the Rent-A-Center shopping center as a possible location where Melinda handed Trenton off to someone. He called Trenton's disappearance a possible "conspiracy" with several people involved.

Still, Chen isn't appearing on detectives' radar screens for the first time this week. Leesburg police Maj. Steve Rockefeller said Chen, who lives in Leesburg, was interviewed "multiple times," including once within 24 hours of Trenton's disappearance. Detectives noted that he wasn't working the day the toddler went missing.

Rockefeller said Chen was among several people detectives want to interview again and give polygraphs.

Blair said Chen recently took a polygraph, but he wouldn't discuss the results.

From across the counter at the Rent-A-Center Thursday, Chen said he couldn't answer questions about Melinda or Trenton.
I doubt Chen has Trenton Duckett for the it would be almost certain that police would have checked out that possibility already. Could Melinda have dropped Trenton off with the man instead and then Chen given the boy to a still unknown third party? That's possible but I think unlikely.

TFM will continue to follow the Trenton Duckett story. Please continue to pray for this boy and all of his family.
