FORT LAUDERDALE -- Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jamie Nails was arrested Wednesday after Fort Lauderdale police said he had a rental vehicle that was three months overdue.Just brilliant! Mr. Nails must be either very dumb or very absent-minded. It don't matter, Jamie Nails step forward you are today's 23rd Knucklehead of the day.
Nails, 31, rented a 2005 Chrysler 300 Touring from Quality Car Rental in Fort Lauderdale on June 6 and was supposed to return it Aug. 15, police said.
Quality Car Rental told police Nails did not contact them about delaying the return. Fort Lauderdale police found Nails at a Lauderhill home in the 5400 block of Northwest 64th Terrace about 3:30 p.m. and took him to the Broward County jail, charging him with failure to return a hired vehicle, a felony.
Nails was drafted into the NFL by the Buffalo Bills in 1997 and joined the Dolphins in 2002 but stopped playing in 2003.
