A new way to campaign?
Some news from Orlando-
A small plane carrying gubernatorial candidate Max Linn made an emergency landing on Interstate 4 this afternoon, causing a massive traffic jam in the eastbound lanes from Florida's Turnpike to South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando Police said.Thankfully Mr. Linn appears to be safe. He probably just got the most publicity his campaign for Governor has gotten to date. Yet TFM wonders if snarling Orlando area traffic is the best way to attract voters.(Cue the sarcastic laughter)
Linn, who was coming from Lakeland, was injured in the incident, which was reported shortly before 1:50 p.m., his office in St. Petersburg said. His office said he was heading to the Orlando Executive Airport, and was not seriously injured in the crash.
The single-engine plane, a Cessna 172S, stopped in the left lane of the interstate, stopping traffic. By 2:30 p.m., the plane was pushed the the median and traffic was beginning to move slowly past the location, which is between John Young Parkway and the OBT exit.
