Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

Latest Fidel rumor

He has pancreatic cancer(Hat Tip- Don Surber)

Luis Inacio da Silva, or Lula, as the Brazilian president prefers to be called, has just been responsible for a very serious leak about Fidel Castro's true health state.

The newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo has not respected a wish from the Brazilian government and released the information they got thanks to their good sources close to the president.

They have published today that Lula talked over the phone with Felipe PĂ©rez Roque, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs - and most expected successor of Fidel, after the dictator's brother has his stint at a possible transition government - and was told that Castro has really gone into surgery because of a bleeding at the intestine area, but that the bad news is an advanced cancer at the abdomen.
This from a Brazilian politician by the way of a Czech newspaper. Tomorrow I'm betting Elvis pays the Cuban dictator a visit. (Cue the sarcastic laughter)

Elian Gonzalez wishes Fidel well.

HAVANA - Elian Gonzalez sent a note Sunday wishing a speedy recovery to "my dear grandpa Fidel," and Cuba's vice president said the world's longest-serving leader is recuperating well after surgery.

*****

Gonzalez, the Cuban boy at the center of an international custody battle with family members in Miami six years ago, published a letter in the Communist Youth newspaper Juventud Rebelde signed with "little kisses" from him and his half-siblings and cousins.

"We send you this letter to let you know that we are worried about your health," Elian, now 12, wrote. "We hope for your speedy recovery and take the opportunity to wish you a happy birthday, may you have many more."

The ailing leader turns 80 on Aug. 13.
Maybe someone will send Fidel a cake with 80 candles. Either a fire starts or he dies from the exertion to blow the candles out.(More sarcastic laughter.)
