Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

The Knucklehead of the Day award

Today's winner is the Hilton Hotel chain. They get the award for terminating the lease of Fran Obrien's Steakhouse. Obrien's was located in the basement of the Washington DC Hilton.

Go to this Mudville Gazette post. Obrien's for over two years has been hosting dinners for returning Iraqi veterans who were wounded and being cared for at Bethesda Naval Hospital or Walter Reed Army Hospital. These Friday night meals were free for these brave men many of who have lost limbs defending their country.

Now Hilton Hotel's actions will end this. What an act of stupidity and this is not to mention a PR nightmare. Hilton says its a business decision, but original claims say it was ADA concerns because of the restaurant's location. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the later. Some fools didn't use their brains before making this decision, GM Brian Kellaher at the hotel in question for one. Let's shame Hilton into reversing their decision. Our fighting men and women need Obrien's, and if enough of a hit is made on Hilton by its customers they'll think twice. Read these past knuckleheads post. Shame caused American Gold Star Moms to change their policy after bad publicity caused them a PR nightmare.

Here is some Hilton Hotel contact information.

For abandoning wounded Iraqi war veterans, Hilton Hotel Chain is today's Knucklehead of the day.
