Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? Faith

There are two interesting stories out there for Catholics and or Christians.

*- A text of ancient documents has been found and re-assembled. It tells the story of Jesus as written by Judas Iscariot.

Supposedly scholars have translated the documents and carbon dating tests were done to confirm their age. This is just what is being reported by the National Geographic Society via AP. There isn't enough there to say if its a hoax, but if true it would seem to validate the existence of Jesus when many refuse to believe there was such a person.

Also blogging on this- Poliblog, Professor Bainbridge, The Anchoress,

*- Then there is the FSU Professor who believes Jesus walked on Ice not water.

Doron Nof, a professor of oceanography, argues that a patch of ice could have formed that night on the Sea of Galilee -- today known as Lake Kinneret in modern-day Israel, and that Jesus could have been walking atop it.

He and two co-authors say a rare combination of factors in both the sea and atmosphere -- including the freshwater lake's high content of saline and unusual cooling trends -- make their ice theory plausible. They describe the phenomenon as "springs ice."

"Because the size of the springs ice is relatively small, a person standing or walking on it would appear to a distant observer to be 'walking on water,' " Nof writes in an article published in the April edition of the Journal of Paleolimnology. The journal chronicles the study of lake histories.

The Professor is welcome to his views. There have those who want to or disprove Jesus and what he did. For Christians it should come down to the one word title of this post.
