The Co-Knucklehead of the Day Part One

Today there is a knucklehead feast. Four of them in all and each deserving an award. Our first winner is Gregory Billard. He brought his computer to COMPUSA to be repaired. While working on it, a store techician discovered child pornography on the harddrive. The police were called and Mr. Billard was arrested and charged with eight counts of posessing child pornography.

Dumb right? Did Mr. Billard think the store would share his tastes? For being both dumb and a pervert, Gregory Billard is one of today's Co-Knuckleheads of the day.

A Deerfield Beach man was arrested after a repair job revealed several pornographic images involving minors on his personal computer.

Here is what Broward Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Veda Coleman-Wright says led to the arrest:

On August 12 of this year, 42-year-old Gregory Billard dropped off two Dell desktop computers at CompUSA in Deerfield Beach to have them repaired. While processing one of the computer hard drives, CompUSA employees found child pornography images. The incident was reported to BSO on August 18th.

The images were determined to be child pornography (with the child under the age of 12). Based on this probable cause, investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for the computer hard drives in this case. After processing by a computer forensics technician, other images of child pornography were located on the suspect's hard drives.

The case was forwarded to the Broward State Attorney's Office and eight counts of possession of child pornography were filed against Billard. A warrant was issued for Billard's arrest and he was taken into custody Monday at his home in Deerfield Beach. Billard is being held at BSO's Main Jail on $80,000 bond.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office is part of a multi-agency task force that consists of Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies that investigate Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). The task force is called LEACH, Law Enforcement Against Child Harm. As part of the duties of this task force, law enforcement members pro-actively investigate Internet chat rooms, and child pornography cases.
