The Knucklehead of the Day award

Goes to Durham North Carolina school board member Jackie Wagstaff. She announced her plans to run for Mayor of the same city. As WRAL Channel 4 reports, Ms. Wagstaff has a very interesting resume.

Three years ago, Wagstaff was convicted of falsifying city documents when she was the director of a non-profit group. Two years ago, she was evicted from her home twice for not paying rent. This year, she was banned from Shepard Middle School.

All I can say is this woman has chutzpah. With her track record she feels qualified to lead a city? Ms. Wagstaff must certainly have a big ego.

With her track record, why is she even in office? I know alot of offices are safe because the way district lines are drawn. But they are only safe from other party opponents, not someone in the same party. Democrat or Republican, you'd think there would be someone in the community who would want to give the people of Durham a school board member they deserve. Not a convicted felon. On the other hand the people in my county felt someone with a long history of tax trouble deserved to be elected last year.

For even considering herself fit to be mayor, Jackie Wagstaff is the Knucklehead of the Day.
