Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

The Knucklehead of the Day award

Today's winner is Palm Beach County Assistant State Attorney Elizabeth Parker. A front page article in the local section of Today's Palm Beach Post chronicles how the County State Attorney's office is dropping 170 DUI cases. The reason? It can't be proved who did the maintenance to the machines.

This story is pretty outrageous. Incompetence and stupidity leading to these cases being dropped. Ms. Parker was the attorney involved for the State. I'm not giving her the knucklehead because of the cases being dropped, apparently her hands were tied. Instead Ms. Parker gets it for the following statement.

"It's very difficult to allow these people to go free, but my job is to seek justice, not to just get a conviction," Parker said. "Justice is dropping the charge."

Justice is dropping the charge? I don't think any reasonable person outside the justice system sees this as just. These people deserved to be prosecuted. For being clueless, Elizabeth Parker is today's Knucklehead of the day.
