The Knucklehead of the Day award Part One
There are just too many good candidates to give just one award today.
Our first winner is Sean Orr. He gets the award for the following.
Racing south on Interstate 95 Tuesday at speeds reaching nearly 120 mph and weaving from lane to lane, Boynton Beach motorcyclist Sean Orr said he had no idea police were after him.Orr wasn't just reckless but selfish also. Did he ever think his driving endangered others? For doing 116 MPH on a crowded interstate, Sean Orr is our first Knucklehead of the Day.
When he was finally stopped at Linton Boulevard and Congress Avenue, Orr was handcuffed and put in a Florida Highway Patrol car for a trip to jail on charges of reckless driving, driving without a motorcycle license and doing 116 mph in the 65 mph zone. His 2003 Buell "crotch rocket" sport bike was towed away.
The extra $50 fine for speeding in the new enhanced penalty sone was the least of his concerns.
"Why would I get a motorcycle if I'm not going to drive fast?" Orr, 24, responded, when asked if he had any fear about what he did.
