DUNEDIN - A Tarpon Springs man has been arrested after repeatedly helping himself to a free breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express, and then hurling hot coffee at a manager when the manager objected, Pinellas Sheriff’s authorities said.

Armstead H. Hudnell, 45, was arrested today on charges of defrauding an innkeeper and battery, sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Bordner said.

Hudnell had been warned repeatedly by employees at the Holiday Inn Express at 975 Broadway St. in Dunedin that he was not entitled to its free breakfast, Bordner said. He had helped himself three times over a period of 10 days when the hotel manager broached the subject with him on Tuesday, Bordner said.

At the time, the manager was standing near the coffee bar, and Hudnell threw a cop of hot coffee at him, Bordner said. The two men fought each other and Hudnell ran off, the spokesman said.

What an ingrate. For throwing coffee at the hand that helped feed him, Armstead H. Hudnell is today's Knucklehead of the Day.
