Trenton Duckett

Is a two-year-old Leesburg Florida boy who was reported by his mother as being abducted on August 27th. The case of Trenton's disappearance took two twists in the last 48 hours. First came this news.

Police on Thursday confirmed that Trenton's father, Joshua Duckett, took a polygraph test within 24 hours after police were called and the boy was reported missing Aug. 27. Rockefeller said investigators were "satisfied with his responses."

However, Melinda Duckett, Trenton's mother, has refused a similar polygraph exam, Rockefeller said.

He said he cannot characterize why she declined to take the test or whether she is now a suspect in her son's disappearance.
A polygraph test is admissable in court. Refusing to take one leaves the strong impression that you have something to hide.

Then this sad news was reported last night.

Melinda Duckett, the mother of missing Leesburg 2-year-old Trenton Duckett, was found dead in her grandparents' home in The Villages on Friday. The death was not from natural causes, law-enforcement officials said.
Today's Orlando Sentinel reported that Melinda Duckett died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The latest news leaves the strong impression Melinda had something to do with Trenton's disappearance. At present police are searching for clues that will lead to their finding the boy. I pray Trenton is found alive, but some how I think he won't be. I suppose its possible the boy's abduction combined with the stress of it could have been too much for Melinda Duckett. One hopes this is what happened, for the other possibility wants to make me vomit. How can a mother take the life of her own child?

Please say a prayer for Trenton Duckett and his mother also. They both need them right now.
