A Palm Beach Gardens man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly robbed a Riviera Beach home and stole an SUV from its driveway but left his own car in the front yard.

William Bruno, 22, was charged with armed burglary, grand theft auto, possession of a controlled substance and grand theft, Riviera Beach police spokeswoman Rose Anne Brown said Sunday. North Palm Beach also lodged charges against him, alleging he committed a burglary there.

Riviera Beach police think Bruno planned to return for his car, but that the residents returned just as he drove away from the Lone Pine Estates neighborhood. They spotted him leaving in their Honda SUV and found a red, two-door Honda Civic parked in their yard, filled with items stolen from inside the home.

"I guess he wasn't finished yet," Brown said.

Police quickly found Bruno to be the Honda's registered owner and teamed with North Palm Beach police in making the arrest. Details of the arrest were not available Sunday night.

LOL, he left his car behind. Who said criminals are smart? For leaving his car(and brains) behind at the scene of the crime, William Bruno is today's knucklehead of the day.
