I need paramedics and an AP reporter!
Some news from the Tallahassee Democrat.
A man who climbed 80 feet up a pine tree while fleeing a Leon County sheriff's deputy was rescued via a firefighters' ladder early Wednesday - then taken to jail on suspicion of car theft.
Lt. Rory Robbins said Steve Brown, 43, had crawled out of the driver's seat of a stolen Chevrolet Trailblazer that had flipped over at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday at Capital Circle Southwest and Aviation Avenue.
Later, dispatchers received an emergency call from a pay phone at the GBA Convenience Store, 4784 Capital Circle S.W., asking for an ambulance and news crew.
Deputy Mark McGowan went to the pay phone where the call had been made, and a man took off running. McGowan eventually chased him to the pine tree - then called the Tallahassee Fire Department.
βI was quite baffled,β McGowan said. βIt turned from an arresting situation to a rescue situation from the tree.β
McGowan and firefighter Mike Terhune persuaded Brown to come down from the tree onto the ladder.

Brown was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for injuries and was released to the Sheriff's Office. He was taken to the Leon County Jail, where Robbins said he faces charges of hit-and-run, failure to remain at a crash scene, grand theft auto and resisting arrest.
Some how I get the impression Mr. Brown's tree climbing was deliberate. What do you think?
