MANATEE - A Sarasota man reported his car and his pants were stolen early Wednesday.

The owner of the car reported he met a man in Sarasota, near Ringling School of Art, and gave him a ride to Bradenton, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

The driver dropped the man off in the 3000 block of 17th Street East, the address where the man said he lived.

The man went inside, then returned to the car and the two men got into a fight about 2:45 a.m. The suspect pulled a knife and then drove off with the 2003 black Honda Element, with a North Carolina tag, as well as the pants, according to the report.
