Newspapers for Dummies
Don Surber points to this news story.
Patrons attending area watering holes applauded efforts by the Charleston Police Department to take the unusual step of conducting a daytime sobriety checkpoint aimed at the happy hour crowd.
Police announced they would conduct a checkpoint from 4 p.m. to midnight today in the 2600 block of Kanawha Boulevard near the Moose Lodge. Department officials said they have noticed a nationwide trend of more drunken drivers during daylight hours.
Another article points out the checkpoint was sucessful than hoped. Police collared so many people DUI, they had to close down early.
Don commented on how the MSM was such a tattle tale. I've noted similiar stories here in Florida. Warnings about DUI checkpoints are either printed in the newspaper or announced on the evening news. Do judges require these announcements? If someone in law enforcement reads this, please leave a comment.
The other thing, why do people not heed the warnings? Did they miss the announcements or thought they'd get away with it? If the later, somebody should buy them a newspaper in the future. LOL
