Florida the rules are different here Chapter XIX
A sinkhole in central Florida that has led to two homes being condemned is still expanding. We get these things all the time in Florida. They are caused by when limestone dissolves due to water. Like a broken water main.
Sinkholes, Aligators, Pythons, Panthers, you got to love this state. That is unless you're one of those two homeowners.

MINNEOLA -- The sinkhole that forced city officials to condemn two houses Friday continues to grow deeper, authorities said this afternoon.
Some portions of the ground have fallen a few inches since Friday, Minneola Fire-Rescue spokesman Troy Newton said. In some places, the sinkhole is 6 feet deep. It also is more than 30 feet in diameter but has not become wider, Newton added.
The hole stretches across two backyards on Windy Bluff Drive in the Oak Valley subdivision off U.S. Highway 27. Both houses show signs of cracking.
Sinkholes, which are common in Central Florida, happen when underlying limestone dissolves, according to the Lake County Water Resources Management.
