The Knucklehead of the Day Award
Another out of control judge is today's winner. Today its Judge Preston Bowie with an assist to Chief Judge Michael Toomin. Bowie had a pregnant woman who claimed to be sick arrested for contempt of court. Monique Mitchell spent three days in jail till Judge Toomin released her on bond.
Judge Bowie is an ignoramous. Do you have any clue how it is to be pregnant? It's not easy for a mother. Judge Toomin is a moron too for allowing this bullshit case to proceed.

Juror who took hike freed from Cook jail Pregnant woman says she felt sick, then left

A pregnant woman taken into custody after she allegedly said she was sick and refused to return to the Criminal Courts Building to serve on a jury last month was ordered released from Cook County Jail Friday.
After being selected as a juror, Monique Mitchell, 21, called the courtroom of Judge Preston Bowie on May 11 to say she was not going to be serving. When she was told she must come back to court, she allegedly said to a Cook County sheriff's deputy on the phone, "What are they gonna do to me?"
What they did, according to attorneys in the case, was send officers to her home this week and place her in custody at the jail, where she has been held since Tuesday.
In a hearing Friday, acting Chief Criminal Court Judge Michael Toomin ordered the woman released on a $25,000 signature bond, and ordered her to return to Bowie's courtroom June 13 to face a citation for contempt of court.
Her lawyer, Assistant Public Defender Peg Solomon, told Toomin that Mitchell has had no prior contact with the criminal justice system, and the matter was a misunderstanding. She was ill, could not make it to court, and then was not initially aware that a warrant had been issued for her arrest, she said.
