The Knucklehead of the Day award

Today's winner is Mark Waller. He gets the award for the following.

Mark Waller, head of NFL international development, introduced Huizenga and Giants co-owners Jonathan and Steve Tisch as the owners of ``two of our greatest teams.''

The Dolphins and Giants, Waller went on, are ''storied, well-run and great brands.'' He said the Dolphins and Giants represent the best of the NFL's grand history and values.

Want to make a bet Mr. Waller works in marketing? The Dolphins were a great team, a generation ago. For the last decade they have been poorly coached and run. That's why the team is at the point they are now.

Mark Waller's remark about the Miami Dolphins being one of the NFL's greatest teams is simply idiotic, and why I make him today's Knucklehead of the Day.
