Conchita Peralta Olobia 1935-2010
My mother-in-law aka Nanay passed away at approximately 3 p.m. on October 4th. This post will remain at the top of the blog for the rest of October.
Nanay was like a second mother to me. My mother was already dead four years when I married Leonita in 1989. We got along well. Too well, my wife would sometimes complain if Nanay and I took an opposing opinion or stance to hers.
It was 1996 that Nanay first arrived in the United States. My father was still alive at the time and she helped to care for him. Nanay was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 1999. She lived another eleven years before it took her life.
I don't know what to say except that I loved Nanay and will miss her very much. Today I got things to do, I will write more about her and update this post eventually. RIP Nanay and give my son Daniel a kiss for me.
The photo in the post is 40 years old or more. One taken of Nanay with her husband, my father-in-law.
