Gridlock
Another tale of joy about life in South Florida-
Hopefully this will all be repaired before the weekday commute recommences on Monday. Because there is other road work will be starting in this same area of South Florida. The roads in my area are chaotic enough without the interstate being shut down even for just two exits.
Earlier today, traffic was routed off northbound Interstate 95 at Lantana Road while crews repaired a sinkhole that erupted overnight just north of Sixth Avenue South.
One northbound lane has now been opened.
The sinkhole occurred in an area that is under construction, said Lt. Andrew Morris, of the Florida Highway Patrol.
Temporary repairs weren't successful and the road was closed about 5:30 a.m. He wouldn't speculate on the cause of the washout or when repairs might be completed.
"I'm not an engineer," Morris said.
