Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

Where's the dramamine Part Three

The Palm Beach Post is at it again with contradictory editorials. This time it took them all of two days.

From an editorial on Tuesday.

While heads of state and the United Nations fumbled for a coherent thought about fighting in Israel and Lebanon, the best idea came from Ari Shivat, a columnist for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz..

This is not the disputed West Bank. When Israel withdrew from southern Lebanon in 2000, the U.N. designated the border that Hezbollah regularly has violated.
So the Post is saying the UN bumbles and their actions/resolutions are meaningless.

Today we get a different song from Schultz and Company.

The United States doesn’t have much leverage in the new Mideast conflict, but the U.S. does have something it needed but didn’t have in Iraq: a United Nations Security Council Resolution.

Approved in 2004, Resolution 1559 called for the political independence of Lebanon (principally from Syria), the withdrawal of all foreign forces (principally Syrian), the “disbanding and disarmament” of all militias (principally Hezbollah) and Lebanese government control of the entire
country. The last two have been the toughest, because Hezbollah’s militia controls southern Lebanon as a base for attacks against Israel, and the Lebanese government had been unable to disarm Hezbollah before the group’s attack on
Israeli soil touched off the fighting that began last week.

Wow, now the UN's resolution is the key to the current crisis. Has anyone ever seen a sillier editorial board in their life? Don Surber recently pointed out a dumb LA Times editorial.
