Commentary, sarcasm and snide remarks from a Florida resident of over thirty years. Being a glutton for punishment is a requirement for residency here. Who am I? I've been called a moonbat by Michelle Malkin, a Right Wing Nut by Daily Kos, and middle of the road by Florida blog State of Sunshine. Tell me what you think.

Katrina again

It's hard not to hear the latest news on the storm. Katrina was the only topic on Fox News whenever I viewed the channel this afternoon.

The storm is now a Category 5 and has sustained winds of 165 MPH. Gusts have reached over 200 MPH. This makes Katrina one of the strongest hurricanes on record, and that almost certainly means catastrophe for whatever part of the Gulf region the storm hits early tomorrow.

Right now New Orleans appears to be in the storm's path. An evacuation was ordered, but thousands still remain. Most of them housed at the SuperDome. New Orleans is below sea level, this storm will cause 20-30 storm surges. There may be no city left when Katrina is done with New Orleans.

Lets pray for all Gulf residents in the path of the storm. They truly need God's help now.

Update- Fellow blogger Paul aka Wizbang is directly in the path of Katrina. God protect him and his family.
